He is the first person in a long time, that is speaking from his heart, he has a sense of hope. Obama will become the first African American man to be president if he win. Obama cares about the problems and how he can slove it. There is a problem with a lot of things and Obama have a plan for most of these problem like for civil rights, disabilities, the economy, my education and others and more things. The problem with families are... At the time, others have tumbled into poverty, watching jobs disappear and the chances for their children's success slip away. Obama's plan is to Provide a ''Making Work Pay tax Cut'' for America's Working Families. Obama cares about his family and the other people families. Obama cares about the issues and how they can change. He care about Iraq and how he change that, the service and the plan to fix all theses problems. Obama said this is not about Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton or John Mccain this is about our hopes and dreams.

The book I am reading is Granddaddy's Gift by Margaree King Mitchell. The characters are Granddaddy, Daughter, Mr. James Marshall, Daughter 's sister and brothers and the church people. The setting is at a farm in Mississippi, at a church and the courthouse. The problem is that they will not let Granddaddy register to vote. They solve it by the help of Mr. James Marshall. As this go on the word gets out about Granddaddy trying to vote. Now people at school will not play with Daughter and the church got set on fire because they do not want blacks to vote. When Granddaddy went up to the courthouse to take the test he wore his church suit someone tore it. The ending is all about how Daughter is 18 years old and ready to register to vote and all she have to do is fill out a card with her address, birth of date and her name. When Granddaddy was telling her bye he said,'' We still have a long way to go.''

The story I am reading is Sew What, Betsy Ross? by Peter and Connie Roop.The characters are Elizabeth or Betsy, her 14 brothers and sisters, her grandfather, her husbands and her parents. The setting is in Philadelphia, at school, John Webster's Upholstery Shop, home and at her own shop. The problem is that Betsy fell in love with a Church of England and they could not get married because Betsy is a Quaker and John is a a Church of England. They are going to run away and get married , then come back, face there parents and open a shop together. The ending is that Betsy died January 30, 1836 and when she died there was twenty-five stars on the flag. I feel glad that she did not give up after her husband died.

This is a biography of Mae C. Jemison. Mae was in grade school when she dreamed of being a astronaut and traveling though space. On September 12, 1992, Mae dream was about to come true. Mae was born in Decatur, Georgia 1956. Mae loved to learn about science and science fiction. Mae loved to read books about science too. When Mae grew up there was no woman or black astronaut. But nothing of Mae' s thinking would change, she kept on dreaming about exploring in space and nothing would stop her. Mae graduated from high school when she was 16 years old. She went medical school and joined Peace Crops to help the needy. Mae want to West Africa to help the people there. Mae returned to the United States in 1989 and still had a dream of becoming a astronaut. Mae waited for a reply because she applied for NASA astronaut program. All the astronauts died but Mae was not scared and she applied once more when NASA astronaut program began once more. In August 1987 a man from NASA called and said they a chosen her. Nearly 2 thousand people applied and 15 was chosen. The training program was hard and they had to study math and others.After a year of training Mae was really a astronaut. In 1991, Mae had a big trip a head of her. Mae became the first black woman to explore space.Mae was very happy and her dream came true.

The characters are Madam C.J. Walker, Alex her brother, her parents, her first husband Moses McWillams, Louvenia and her daughter A 'Lelia C.J. Walker. The setting is at Vicksburg, Mississippi 1882, Delta, Louisiana 1867, Denver, Colorado 1905, Indianapolis, Indiana 1910. The problem is that Sarah' s hair started to fall out and nothing she tired stopped it. The solution is that Sarah made her own hair cure. The ending is that Sarah ended up becoming the first black female millionaire and she became most successful company owned by an African-American woman. I feel glad that Sarah gave to black schools, gave to the needy and it is cool that she built a mansion.Sarah was born December 23,1867. Sarah and her family worked in the cotton fields. When Sarah was 7 years old her mother and father died. After her parents died her brother, Alex, moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi for better work. Later Sarah and her sister moved there, too. In 1882, Sarah married Moses McWilliams. In 1885, Sarah and her husband had a daughter they named her A 'Lelia. In 1884, Sarah 's husband was killed. Sarah was only 20 years old. Sarah and her daughter, A 'Lelia, moved to St. Louis, Missouri. While Sarah was in a difficult time, her hair started to fall out. Every thing she did would not help. Sarah made a cure that came to her in her dream. Sarah was surprised that her hair grew back fast. Sarah decided to start her own hair care business. In 1905, Sarah moved to Denver, Colorado. Sarah had not a lot of money saved. Sarah used that money to start her business. Some months later, Sarah married a newspaper man named C.J. Walker. Sarah changed her name to Madam C.J. Walker. She named her hair cure after her self. Madam Walker went door to door and gave free demonstrations. In 1910, Madam Walker moved the company to Indianapolis, Indiana. Madam Walker company grow. In 1919, Madam Walker had 25,000 women working for her company. Madam Walker became the first black female millionaire. Madam Walker donated money to black organizations, black schools and the needy. In 1919, she died.

The characters are Officer Fields, Champ and Roberto. The setting is at Washington Elementary School. The problem is that a tornado hit Washington Elementary School, Roberto went back to the class room when he was to stay with the kids and Roberto is still inside under that stuff. After they heard that the school had fall in Officer Fields turned around and write back to the school. Officer Fields talked to Roberto teacher and heard that Roberto went back to classroom. Officer Field let Champ out of the car and Champ went searching. Champ looked all over the place, until Roberto called out for help and Champ gave out a bark. The emergency works rushed over to help but they did it carefully so Roberto would not get hurt. Officer Fields and Champ stand near by. After the pile got smaller and smaller Champ saw a head pick out smiling. After the emergency works got Roberto out he had to go for a check up. Roberto’ s mother came to see if Roberto was all right. Roberto told his mother that he was alright and when he heard Champ barking he could yell for help. Officer Fields had to ask Roberto some questions. Officer Fields asked Roberto why did he leave out the hallway at a such dangerous time and run back to the classroom. Roberto started to say that he did not want to lose the picture of Champ and you. Officer Fields made Roberto promise that he would not leave again in a dangerous time. Officer Fields told Roberto that he will give him another picture. After that the emergency workers put Roberto into the ambulance. Roberto mom got in beside him. Before they left Roberto wanted Champ to ride in the ambulance with him. So Officer Fields let him he just ride behide you. Roberto and Champ was friends for life.

The book I am reading is More Than Anything Else by Marie Bradby. The characters are Papa, John, Mama, The towns people, a black man and Booker. The setting take place near a small town by the Kanawha river. The problem is that Booker want to learn how to read and he looks over town to try to read. The story ends by Booker found someone to teach him how to read and he is happy or jumping for joy. I feel happy that he learned how to read and how he did not give up.

One of the characters in the book Rudley Cabot in… The Quest for the Golden Carrot is Rudley Cabot. Rudley’s personality is that he is a adventure kind of guy but, his sister, Cabba,gets in the way. Rudley look like a rabbit and the town people are too. Rudley say space sickness is not good and he say what is going to happen next. Rudley space sickness fast and get in a lot of trouble with with his enemy. Rudley his a hero and a enemy and they are Bob Cabot for the hero and Captain Weasel for his enemy. I think Rudley should make friends with Captain Weasel and find the Golden Carrot together because he would not have to get in trouble where he will not have to abandon his ship.

The book I am reading is Martin’s Big Words by Doreen Rappaport. The main characters are Mr. and Mrs. King and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Martin’s Big Words take place in Montgomery, Alabama, Washington D.C. and Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. King is standing up for his rights. Dr. King is standing up for his rights because he thinks it is not right for whites to get more and better things then them. Dr. King and his brother house was bomb. Black people think they need to solve the problem by fighting. Dr. King think LOVE is what is the most thing you need to fight with. The book ends by Dr. King went to go help someone in Memphis, Tennessee he died the second day their by getting, shot. I like is that my grandmother marched with Dr. King to Washington D.C. Martin’s Big Words is based on a biography.
