I think you should vote for Barack Obama because he doesn't want us kids to fail school. He can help bring our country together to fix problems we face. He can help make having health care a law. Barack Obama doesn't just listen to African Americans, he listens to all races. He doesn't want people to vote for him because he's African American. He wants people to vote for him because he can help our country. Barack Obama is willing to help retool factories and cars will run on less oil. The cost of everyday needs are going higher and higher while wages remain to be flat. Barack can help that. VOTE BARACK OBAMA!

The book I'm reading is called The Rise of a Star LeBron James by David Lee Morgan Jr. The main character in the book is LeBron James. LeBron James was born December 31. He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He lived with his mother and grandmother. On Christmas eve when LeBron was just a toddler, his grandmother died of a heart attack. He wasn't told until later on so that he could have a normal Christmas. LeBron attended St. Vincent St. Mary High School. He played on the school team The Irish. They played so well that the newspaper and news cameras followed them around. "They're not signing any autographs right now!" they're coach would say to the people. When LeBron graduated from High School, he skipped college and went to the NBA. He was the #1 Draft Pick in 2002. I think that LeBron James is an amazing athlete and I would really love to meet him some day!

The book I'm reading is called Akeelah and the Bee by James W. Ellison. The main characters are Akeelah Anderson and Dr. Larabee. The problem in the the story is that Akeelah is doing the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Her school is not in the best neighborhood and everyone is depending on her to win so they don't look like fools. Her spelling coach, Dr. Joshua Larabee, soon stops coaching her. She starts to lose self confidence and decides to give up the bee. Her mother convinces her that she can do it so she decides to do the bee. In the end, Akeelah and Dylan Watanabe, a boy who came in second place two years in a row, came in a tie for second place. One of them would have came in first, but they both were excellent spellers so there was no first place winner. I feel happy for Akeelah because I know that her family and friends were proud of her. I was proud of her too. This book is based on the movie Akeelah and the Bee.

The book I’m reading is called Pleasing the Ghost by Sharon Creech. The main characters are: Uncle Arvie, Dennis, and Aunt Julia. This book takes place in the spring, at Dennis’ house, and at Aunt Julia’s house. The problem is that ever since Dennis’ dad died, ghosts have been visiting him but not the ghost he’s hoping for. He wants his dad. Uncle Arvie is a ghost and only kids could see him but adults could smell him. Uncle Arvie is trying to get Aunt Julia’s attention but she can’t see or hear him. I feel happy that Dennis finally told Billy that his dad died too because Billy didn’t know, Dennis discovered the buried treasure under Aunt Julia’s tree, and Billy finally saw Uncle Arvie fly. I also like that Dennis and Billy became best friends.

The book I’m reading is called Aliens are Coming by Meghen McCarthy. The story’s main characters are the news reporters and the aliens. It took place on October 30,1998 in Kentucky. The problem was that actors dressed as news reporters were playing a joke about aliens taking over the world. The world didn’t know it was a joke. Everyone was afraid and tried to escape. At the end, the actors announced that they were paid actors. They also announced that everything that they had said was a joke. I think that was a bad joke. I also think that no one heard that it was a joke. They had everybody upset, worried and running around screaming like maniacs.

One of the characters in my book The Chocolate Touch is John Midas. Some things about him are: he is addicted to chocolate and can’t control it. He bought a special piece of chocolate and got the chocolate touch. The thing about chocolate touch is that everything he touched with his lips turned chocolate and that was a problem. He’s also adventurous and doesn’t like to listen sometimes. I really think that John was happy when he got rid of his special little problem.

My book is called Somewhere in The Darkness by Walter Dean Myers. The characters in the book are Jimmy Little, the son, and Crab, whose real name is Cephus and is the father. It takes place in Chicago and Arkansas. The problem is that Jimmy’s mom died and his father is in jail. He lives with his grandma Mama Jean in New York. His dad gets out of jail and comes to get Jimmy. He and Jimmy move to Chicago. Pretty soon they move to Arkansas. He told the people in charge of him in jail that he could get a job in Chicago, but I guess that was a lie . They get to Arkansas and stop at the market. When they came out, two policemen in their police car were staring at them. One of the policemen got out and got a shotgun. Crab takes off running and the two policemen chased after him. Jimmy was terrified. When they finally caught him, he was laying down on the ground. They rushed him to the hospital. That same day, they pronounced Crab dead. Jimmy took the train back to Mama Jean’s house in New York and never went back again. I feel bad for Jimmy. He’s Been through a lot.
